This rare bronze purse was found with six #gold coins still inside in the #Celtic oppidum (settlement) at Manching. It was originally sealed with an organic material, presumably a leather strap. The purse is rather small: 4.3x3.3 cm. The diameter of the smallest coin is 6.5mm.
Dating ca. 200 BC.
On display at Archäologische Staatssammlung München.

There is something very intimate about objects like this one.

️ me@ninawillburger I was just trying to imagine actually using a solid metal purse and I have to say, it must have jingled like crazy... I imagine that also would let a prospective thief know from half a mile away.

@tanavit @ninawillburger Maybe, but it could be too late after the theft... (Plus it's harder to notice the absence of a thing than the presence of a thing.)
