      @Natasha_Jay

      This seems incorrect. According to this article from December 2025, Switzerland's military and intelligence services never had a contract with Palantir. Palantir offered their services repeatedly, but in December 2024 the Swiss military concluded in an internal report that Palantir was unsuitable in part due to questions about digital sovereignty and data security.

      The article (Part 1 of 2, in German, possibly behind paywall): https://www.republik.ch/2025/12/08/wie-hartnaeckig-palantir-die-schweiz-umwarb

      Copy of the internal report (in German):

      @anselmschueler one needs a contract just to see if it's a good fit pro bono. Both articles say virtually the same thing, that the Swiss military found it to be a very powerful tool, but due to its glaring flaws it would not be pursued beyond testing for a good fit. No contract for purchase pursued, contract for testing cancelled due to being pure poison.

        @cmthiede "Switzerland’s military has terminated its contract with Palantir Technologies Inc. following a security audit." This is untrue, as far as I can tell. The phrasing makes it sound like Switzerland was already using Palantir, which they weren't.

          @anselmschueler and how does one perform a security audit without a "contact?" They did their due diligence, what's the problem?

            @cmthiede They didn't sign a contract. Contact ≠ contract.

                          Here in the UK, after they have been awarded a huge MoD contract to add to their NHS and police contracts, Palantir's ability to access sensitive defence information is a feature, not a bug.
                          Between Palantir and Oracle and the new age-gating two tier internet, everyone is going to be logged in and spied on all the time.

                              The article indicates the world does not trust the #USA #Government and many of its internation #corporations.

                              It's only been one year, but it looks like the US has lost much of the respect we had just 2 years ago. Weird how "elections have consequences," huh?

                                      @nanianmichaels @Natasha_Jay

                                      Meanwhile the EU still believes in its latest data agreements with the US even though they are not really in the spirit of the GDPR and the EU basic rights charter.

                                        Vielleicht wäre ja aus juristischer Sicht interessant, ob es da einen sinnvollen Rechtsweg für Betroffene (wohl potenziell alle in B-W) gibt. Oder gar eine Möglichkeit zu einer Verbandsklage o.ä.

                                          @praesolgka Auch wenn ich vermuten würde, dass es wenn, dann eher in anderen Gerichten als einem OLG landen würde (Verwaltungsrecht wohl? Oder falls evtl. in dem Fall ein direkter Weg zum LVerfG oder BVerfG offen wäre...)
