@EUCommission The elephant in the room? The Anthropocene Mass Extinction event, now at the verge of critical, irreversible tipping points.
But noo, let’s exacerbate while ignoring, and throw money to a speedup of burning the planet. For slop. We like slop. Slop good. Must have slop. Slop is the future! And the future is: extinction.

@EUCommission So not tackling any real problems then?
Nothing on the climate crisis that saw Europe burning this summer? -
@cardiozibi No one mentioned communism except you, dear. @benhuser @EUCommission
@thejessiekirk @benhuser @EUCommission Now we can all see you don't get it "dear".

@cardiozibi LOL do please tell me what you think you understand and I don't. It's going to make you sound very normal and very intelligent.

@EUCommission I see the EU commission is dedicating 200 billion Euros to deliberately kill the planet. I see the commission has stopped believing climate change exists.
Will that be an official point next time? "Stop all environmental projects in favor of AI"?

Nothing on the climate crisis that saw Europe burning this summer?@Research_FTW @EUCommission It is obvious they see the climate crisis as something positive, or they would have invested differently.

@WhyNotZoidberg @EUCommission
Probably hoping for some disaster capitalism. Where they can pick up the ruins of other people's lives for cheap. -

@EUCommission I was thinking the other day about European AI. Perhaps Europe should invest in its own sovereign AI capabilities. Because I think it's plausible that in the future, if the US and China have big advantages in AI compared to Europe, they might use those advantages against Europe.

@EUCommission But you EU Master Minds do know that we need a life supporting environment first, to do all this stuff, right?

Security:
- Is unification (federalization if you really insist) of the EU Member States army on the list?
- Would it include transport infrastructure as well?
- (also funny to speak about security when people who wish to own weapons are "bullied")
- And are we going to finally fucking tell people the situation and provide them with guides on how to behave in crisis?!?!(1/3)
@The_Universality @EUCommission Unification of EU militaries is not going to happen because EU member states don't want it.
Teaching people how to behave in a crisis is the task of member states.
Agreed about weapon ownership, but again, member states would not support forcing common sense rules. They want to keep their superstitious local rules.
-
@EUCommission 5? Or 4? Or did AI count and present your list?
@Kristine @EUCommission Can we stop calling interns "AI"? Someone makes a typo or a copy-paste mistake and suddenly everyone's screaming about AI.

@EUCommission Scratch the 200b for AI, allocate one of them for damage control when the AI bubble bursts & transfer two thirds of the rest to environmental efforts & one third to European digital autonomy (NOT sovereignty!).

"They want to keep their superstitious local rules."
That is precisely the issue.
I understand some not being for full on unification/federalization, but the fragmentation in trade rules/military/energy is needed.

@EUCommission yeah, nobody needs a livable planet if you can't endanger all citizen's privacy and create shrimp jesus images... Climate change is nothing to worry about...

@Kristine @EUCommission Can we stop calling interns "AI"? Someone makes a typo or a copy-paste mistake and suddenly everyone's screaming about AI.
@elgregor @EUCommission from my end it was a genuine question because it is an error I regularly see when I get AI assistance in summarizing content, since they also put AI as one of their focus areas. I was also a bit surprised if this was indeed one of those errors as I think EU also has job protection and factual content and news as one of their recurring themes in other settings
-
@Kristine @EUCommission pretty pathetic for an organisation representing 300 million people. Prioritising AI ahead of climate is a good way to make the world burn too.
@http_error_418 @EUCommission I am not an expert and I have not read the whole document linked to, but you're not the first one raising this point in addition to the general economy and other important topics.

@EUCommission 5 priorities but only 4 points mentioned? Did AI generate this post?
Seriously. Stop your "AI" madness.
Mass surveillance and authoritarian methods aren't "child protection".
Put the climate catastrophe back on the list. It's already too late. We need to do damage control immediately!
Stop the neoliberal agenda that drives fascism.
Defending democracy also means attacking fascist movements and sanctioning pro-authoritarian policies. Where is any of that?
Thank you.

@EUCommission this plan SUC(K)S. Please stop brown-nosing Trump, we don't need more military spend, EU oligarchs, slop, or surveillance. We need a planet for our grandchildren to live on, and to stand up against crimes against humanity
