"I don't seem to feel anything at all. Most Betazoids can sense other people's emotions--I can't even sense my own," Crewman Lon Suder.
What an interesting dilemma. A Betazoid who can't sense anyone's emotions, not even his own. I wonder if that's why he's so violent/murderous?

@Phangurl He's a Betazoid sociopath. One of my favourite characters of Voyager's early seasons.

@StarkRG He would be a fascinating case study. Are there other examples of Betazoids who can't read anybody's emotions?

@Phangurl No, but DS9 had a Betazoid who was a selfish prick and a conman.

Edit, no wait, I was thinking of an El-Aurian (like Guinan)

Didn't Marina Sirtis wear contacts as Deanna? A betazoid thing?

Yep, all Betazoids have black irises (the colored bit of your eye). From a production viewpoint, this was done with contacts.

@Phangurl @startrek Well, we know from the TNG episode "The Loss" (had to look that up, always confuse it with "The Swarm") that when Deanna looses her empathy, other people stop feeling real to her & that it plays merry hell with her mind - maybe Suder experienced something like that...
