@inthehands @drgroftehauge And claiming that enforcement of the law is fascism. The mind boggles.
Just imagine how they’ll feel if they every find out what that word actually means.

Note that this attack on Minnesota’s elections was explicitly racist: these bozos dressed in what they thought were Muslim costumes. You might not think that’s a key part of testing an electoral system — but •they• did.
It’s not that they think that people in general are voting who shouldn’t be allowed to vote. It’s that they think that •brown people• are voting who shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

@inthehands Reminds me of how when the local Republicans were trying to trick people into signing a petition to specifically allow gerrymandering...what suddenly gave me bad vibes about the person urging me to sign something the opposite of what he said it was, was the realization that this was basically a dude in blackface. Someone of probably Hispanic or Italian ancestry with added self-tanner and a Rasta wig. It looked not too unrealistic from a distance, but up close got really Uncanny Valley. So it's pretty clear who they think is their opposition.

@inthehands I want James O'Keefe prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It's espionage and sedition, according to POTUS. He's a terrorist against fair and accurate elections.

@inthehands I sure hope this lands them in jail. O’Keefe has been up to these shenanigans for far too long. Time to lock up his ass!

@inthehands
I’m glad they’re facing felony charges, at least until a trump judge lets them off or trump pardons them.
What a couple of weak little raciest sKKKum bags. -

What a couple of weak little raciest sKKKum bags.Given that the charges are coming from a county prosecutor, I do wonder whether some of them will be MN state charges (which a US president cannot pardon)

@inthehands TIL: posting videos of oneself publicly committing a crime can land you in legal trouble

Such racist assumptions about Minnesota — including from the racists who live here, the racists who (for example) murdered George Floyd — severely misestimate this place. It’s complicated and sometimes ugly complicated, as all places are, but the humanist undercurrents here run •very• deep.
ICE, Veritas, I don’t care. Minnesota may be nice, be we are pros, we take democracy seriously, and we are not fucking around.

They did, in fact, get caught, and will now be going to jail.
Well then.
Thanks for red-teaming the system, guys. Great work. I'm pleased to report that the security measures in place are fully operational and functioning to spec.

@inthehands I'm a bit confused, did they get caught in the act or did the attorney general see their video? -

From the article:
❝Even without the videos publicly posted by O’Keefe and Higby, Moriarty said her office would have been able to charge the case because election judges in the precincts noted their “strange behavior” and participation in the investigation.❞

@inthehands right "would have" but did they?
I mean, presumably they didn't ever vote illegally because they never signed the affidavits, so their stunt was a failure to begin with. But the article is unclear on his they got caught. -

I mean, presumably they didn't ever vote illegally because they never signed the affidavits, so their stunt was a failure to begin with. But the article is unclear on his they got caught.I mean, it gives plenty of clues: workers flagged their behavior, then as you note they refused to sign the affadavit, and then they did it at multiple polling places so it’s easy to imagine an internal investigation kicking off from that. I’m sure we’ll learn more if/when it goes to trial.

These dumb fuck didn’t learn their lesson from the last election cycle or two where Republicans got caught committing voter fraud because they’ve been told it’s just goes on all the time. The easiest thing in a total waste of time when you figure that the cost benefit a risk benefit is terrible.
