He would be perfectly happy if he could stay at Mar A Lago in his Oval Office replica signing things with an AI news feed telling him everyone loves him. A random set of actors could be paraded through and he'd never know they weren't dignitaries.@cshlan @anneapplebaum I imagine there's a lot of that going on but also that he's hard to contain and he's being guarded by people who are going to see he gets his way until someone tells them he's incapacitated in a very official way.
It's only a partial coup at this point. The military and SS are still largely professionals even if the true believers are being removed. People would tell.
