If somebody already saw your toot, then you edit it, will they see the edit? Or does the edit only get loaded by people who haven't seen the original yet? I'm not seeing edits I made here from my other account on a different server so I'm confused about that.

Once you edit a post, it alters the post on all the servers that the post has federated to.
If someone looks at the post after the edit has happened, they will see the edited version.
If you're not seeing the edit you made on another server, try refreshing the page. Edits normally appear pretty quickly, though they occasionally get delayed a bit if a server is really busy with other tasks.
