    @RockyC Well .... it got most details things wrong, and was only in general stuff vageuly correct ... so if that is significant for every visitor I guess we are still a bit safe without the cookies.

    @GoblinQuester It doesn't matter if the details are wrong. What matters is that they are consistent. That allows them to build a profile and follow you regardless.

      @RockyC I've tested it with Tor-Browser on Linux and Android. I got
      "roughly 1 in 120.0 million browsers look like yours."
      in both cases.

      Did anybody else try with Tor-Browser?

        @RockyC
        It said "this page asked for zero permissions." That's an outright lie. It asked to create a webGL context, which my browser (Librewolf) let me decline.

        And it got a lot wrong, including my computer type, public IP address, screen resolution (twice) and trackpad. So I'll sleep OK tonight.

            @ingo_wichmann I got 1 in 130 million on Zen with Privacy Badger and UBlock Origin installed, and 1 in 120.6 million on FireDragon. Interesting.

              @drewph Technically, Librewolf did the asking, not the web page.

              It doesn't matter that the data is wrong, only that it is unique and identifiable. They can still track you across websites and build a profile. I set Librewolf to its strictest mode, reloaded the page, and it welcomed me back to my second visit.

                          In regards to rockys test , a custom user agent was set but the original user agent showed. Then changed a setting, now it shows the custom.

                            So presumably the answer is to randomise things frequently - like reporting a fake resolution, a different platform, frequent change of VPN location, etc.

                                @RockyC Most of the comments are about the tool not working correctly or portrayed wrong. Yes it might be the case if you are into privacy and stuff but once think from a perspective of an average internet user with little to no knowledge about privacy. If you show it to them they will surely get interested and look into privacy.
                                Kudos to the developers 🤝 will surely incorporate this into our next awareness session.
                                Thanks for sharing

                                    @RockyC aha this gives me a clue why some stuff is thinking I'm on a VPN and demanding I turn it off:

                                    > Your browser speaks English, your IP is in DE, and your clock is in a third place. That's not a traveller. That's a VPN.

                                    [narrator: that's not a VPN]
