@michaelvcooper1 @flargh what I was thinking. Every time that it looks like they're going to accidentally make a good decision, he distracts them by rubbing against their legs, or scratching them, or bringing them a mouse. Did a good job with the lettuce lady, and has got a bit complacent since.
