As a human rights lawyer representing survivors of domestic and sexual violence for 15+ years, I've learned a hard truth.

@billjryan @QasimRashid every man I meet who responds to me like you just did reinforces the fact that, no, I haven't met The Wrong Men, I've just met Men
@YKantRachelRead @billjryan @QasimRashid it’s always amazing when victim blamers think they’re one of the good ones.
I am 53 years old and I have lived in 6 different states in this country. I have worked in banks, law offices, doctor’s offices, bars, and restaurants. If I am only meeting the wrong men I guess that’s a problem with America because I have been all over the place and these are the people I meet.
Edited to add that I forgot the VW service center, the BMW parts store, the IBM hot desk admin, and real estate offices.

@VerenaRupp @QasimRashid women in relationships with men in deep blue states in the US live longer on average than single women in deep red states. Best move to extend lifespan is to get away from racist, sexist gun nuts and their Vagina Policing and other $hitty health care.
@jonesmurphy @QasimRashid As far as I can see, this only applies to women in the US, though. We don't have such clear divides. Therefore, the safe choice is to remain single.
-
@QasimRashid The best thing a woman can do if she wants to live a long and healthy life is to stay single. We can't choose to have male relatives or not, but we *can* choose to have a partner - or not.
@VerenaRupp @QasimRashid #6B4T
But you can’t tell them you’re 4B because apparently it’s misandrist to deny them the opportunity to shoot their shot at us. And it’s hate to not “give them a chance” if they choose us but we don’t want them. And if you give them a chance but decide you’re not compatible that’s bad too because then you led them on.Opting out is the only way to be safe and free from abuse.

@maggiejk @QasimRashid What's 4B? Some kind of pencil?

@QasimRashid Men aren't safe around men either. You know that, right?
Also, men are more likely to die preventable violent deaths, be seriously injured by random violence, and die from preventable diseases.
Statistically men are in more danger than women, every day, all the time, from everything and you only need to look into an OAP home to see who is outliving whom.
In summary, feeling safe and being safe are not the same thing. Safety is not and can not be guaranteed for anyone, ever.
@Oafsalot @QasimRashid and this is exactly why trans women should never be forced to use the men’s bathroom, men’s locker room, men’s jail, etc.

As a human rights lawyer representing survivors of domestic and sexual violence for 15+ years, I've learned a hard truth. One that will make some men uncomfortable. This is good. Discomfort is the beginning of accountability.
Women are not safe around men. This is a documented, data-driven, empirically supported fact our society has spent generations refusing to confront. Let's Address This.
@QasimRashid The thing that amuses me most, is the lack of rationality when this sort of thing crops up.
Evil deeds are not exclusive to men. Nor are they exclusive to women. Evil deeds are innate to humans... Period.
-
@QasimRashid Ok, I need to know what to with this information.
I am a male and have never hurt a woman.
Do you want me to self quarantine for the rest of my life in order to make women feel safe? -

@Oafsalot @QasimRashid why is it that, in every discussion about violence against women, there's always some guy (let's be real, usually multiple guys) trying to refocus the discussion on men as the Real Victims?
(this is a rhetorical question. the answer is male supremacy)

@YKantRachelRead @QasimRashid Because ultimately it's not about the sex organs you where born with, which wasn't something you controlled, but the content of your character... Also, just because women are less lethal than men, doesn't mean they're not as dangerous. Pathological behaviour doesn't care about your sex organs either. Understand?
You want to reduce violence, you have to take a holistic approach, the causes are far more universal. Of course, if you hate men to start with...

@johan_andersson @QasimRashid Not safe to harass and abuse women.
-
@RyszardD @QasimRashid You realise how stupid this makes you look right? Soneone showed you actual research and you chose to say your opinion is right and the research is wrong.

@fenex33 @QasimRashid Yes, let's join together and stick crayons up our noses because we don't like the results of actual research.
-
@johan_andersson @QasimRashid Not safe to harass and abuse women.
@Ooze @QasimRashid Certainly, it shouldn't be. Neither should it be possible to abuse the justice system for personal vendettas against innocent men. Nor should you throw around sexist statements like "men are unsafe".
-

"Real Victims" I mean if you start with a victim mentality, you'll always be a victim... I'm just aware of the demographics, population, causes of death, etc. The research makes NO comparison and provides no context, So the research isn't wrong, it's just half the story. Men die more often, more violent and more preventable deaths in EVERY demographic, across the West.. We can argue apples and oranges all you want though, the numbers just aren't lying.

@QasimRashid Well Some Men Anyway
Enough Men That Any Woman Has To Assume Any Given Man So It Might As Well Be All Men
