Any time news drops about a vulnerability being found in the Linux kernel, tech YouTubers begin pushing out videos with slop titles: "Linux is falling apart", "Is this the end of Linux?", and "Do not use Linux".
It is so fucking annoying, just as annoying as when the AUR issue happened last month. They all came out of the woodwork screaming "Do nOT UsE ArCH", and some even went ahead to uninstall Arch and swap to another distro because of it
.The AUR issue was particularly funny and annoying to me because it was never supposed to be that loud; the AUR is the AUR. When I was searching for which distro to move to last year, everyone who told me to move to Linux said, "The AUR is dangerous, read the shell scripts and documentation before installing." Every Arch user knows that the AUR is supposed to be filled with buggy packages. Why then were these YouTubers crying?
It annoys me how people sell with panic. A panic that they induce.
