Palantir has more than a 'foothold' [sic]. It's in the security services, MoD and many other departments.
"The UK’s response to the same underlying evidence has been to move in the opposite direction: awarding Palantir more than £900 million in public sector contracts spanning NHS patient records, Ministry of Defence operations, policing, intelligence, nuclear weapons management, and border control. Often without competitive tender. Sometimes with extraordinary secrecy."
Elsewhere the British state is totally in thrall to US Big Tech, not a good sign.

@ChrisMayLA6 This is what happens when grubby money - Mandelson - puts governments officials with zero knowledge of what to ask, what the software does - into the ring with professional sharks - Palantir's sales team. No one in government has a clue how any of this tech works, but are frightened of it.
Look at the way they push a ban on under 16s socials, rather than tackling the tech companies and forcing them to take responsibility and clean up their act. Spineless and hopeless! -
