How does it work? It works by using the word "algorithm" as an excuse to fuck people over.
This is the ambition of every single subscription business - to hook you in with what looks like a good deal & gradually make you pay more & more for less & less.
It's called the Darth Vader MBA; "We're altering the deal, pray we don't alter it any further".
