One of the few places where electric trolleybuses (#bus getting power from electrical lines above the road) are still running, #Bergen, Norway seems to be phasing them out towards 2030. They have been part of the cityscape since 1950.

@tanketom They could do as Lyon https://www.urban-transport-magazine.com/en/first-hess-lightram-19-in-service-lyon-significantly-expands-its-trolleybus-system/ and combine it with a system where the busses can do a in-motion charging. This would probably be cheaper and more efficient than trying to do charging by induction.

@aslakr I think they already do that on the routes that have trolleylines only part of the way – the newest Bergen trolleybuses are from 2020 and have batteries to run for 11km without line power: https://bussmagasinet.no/de-nye-solaris-trolleybussene-er-kommet-til-bergen/

Og hva betyr det at vanlige batteribusser er gode nok nå? Jeg trodde det var grunnen hvorfor linje 3,4,5 ikke er elektriske? Dobbel lengde, ingen elektronisk ledning over motorveien
