@utf_7 @troed @sundogplanets, my thoughts are on the biggest resource consumption of a datacenter: Cooling and Energy, which is very taxing right now on our existing capabilities.
We'd shift from constant CO2 emitting energy consumption on earth to solar in space and move away from using fresh water for cooling, which is becoming more and more scarce.
@ppulfer @utf_7 @troed @sundogplanets Yeah, Elon might get away with ignoring laws here on Earth but you can’t do that with the laws of physics. Space is not full of magical infinite solar energy or cooling.
This is just a grift to keep the investment for his companies flowing in.

What about the logistics?
Say you manage to find 100 suitable rocket launch sites and have a successful launch a week from each site.
Assuming a 100% successful launch rate and that all of the satellites end up in the right orbit first time that's still 10,000 weeks before all of the satellites are in place.
So 192 years?
Are my calculations correct?

Of course there is. I did math on the existing numbers months back (there are so many I expected them to be smaller) to determine ideally how much land area each existing then could cover for internet signal.
It’s stupefying even if any one trusted Musk as a carrier. I certainly don’t.

@the_wub @sundogplanets spacex already deploys 20-60 satellites per launch - and this is the same delusional management who think they can turn around launches in a day or less, so the bottleneck would (in their eyes) be building the satellites themselves
