Nursery manager. The past 18 years I've seen so many babies take their first steps and not said anything to their parents apart from "I think they're so close to walking!" Then I act all surprised when they report that their little one finally took their first steps at home.

@fesshole So we've found a great example of when lying is actually okay to do.

Babies are sneaky little fuckers before they transition into toddlers (when they become cuter and sneakier for six months until they reach the terrible twos). They are always the first steps that each particular person has witnessed.
The only ones who care are the parents.

@fesshole Well done!
One time we collected our eldest from day care and she was sucking a lollipop and her mother said "oh, her first lollipop!" and on of the staff said "uh, we always give them one about this time as a bit of a boost".
