Does anyone here do #SeatWeaving?

Does anyone here do #SeatWeaving? I've got 6 old Ikea chairs like these, and the Danish paper cord on them is starting to fray. I LOVE them and they are discontinued. Trying to figure out if it's folly for a beginner to attempt to cut off and reweave. The curve looks daunting and I'm not sure which way to start warping (front to back versus left to right).
Anyone here done anything like this and have words of wisdom? #AskFedi #Weaving #Furniture #FurnitureRestoration #Restoration

@jonobie As a former cabinet maker by trade & training I've seen it done (though didn't do it myself) - it's actually a pretty honest process, in that it works exactly like it looks like it works. The two things that can kick a beginner's butt is tying off the strands & keeping the weave tight enough so that the final result doesn't sag. Like others in this thread I would say load up a few Youtube videos & go for it!
