Er færger klimavenlige? Svarene er virkelig i øst og vest. Jeg har forsøgt at blive klogere. Min bedste forståelse af den klimavenlige færgetur kan koges ned til denne sætning: Den ideele færgetur tilbyder en smutvej, er beregnet til transport (ikke cruise), kører på vedvarende energi (eller i det mindste LNG), du er gående passager, og færgen kører relativt langsomt. What I think would be extremely useful would be to have public accessible data for each ships a) total fuel consumption pr year and, b) total miles sailed pr year. This would give a quite cualified mean figure to compare ferries. This data surely exists, but not for the public eye. I know the Danish state requires shipping companies to report these kind of data on a company level already. -

@malte another very viable option I see is to make it easy and desirable for shipping companies to bring passengers (again).. Any cargoship can legally bring up to 12 passengers. Right now some of the main obstacles are insurance and visa bureaucracy. I think this could be solved. Not as romantic as green sailing vessels, I know, but until capitalism burns down, these ships will be going all over the place anyway, and you would just be hitching a ride..

And there is a lot of greenwash with hybrid vessels BTW. Like, it doesn't make your vessel much greener if you just install a big batterypack and then charge it by burning diesel fuel in your onboard generators:) If you connect to the powegrid in port it is a completely different story.

Alt skal gå så helvedes hurtigt, og der skal være cirkus, underholdning og noget at spise (crap) hele tiden.
Færger er fantastiske. Jeg savner fx færgen mellem Juelsminde og Kalundborg
Jeg håber også på mere el eller mere vildt. Vind!

Jeg savner færgen mellem Bandholm og Askø, som nu afgår fra Kragenæs og tager meget længere tid.Færgerne mellem Rødbyhavn og Puttgarden er hybridfærger, der sejler på diesel og el, og som nu ombygges til plug-ins, så de kan lade op, når de lægger til kaj, og øge andelen af el til 80 procent. Jeg er dog overrasket over denne investering, fordi Femern Bælt-tunnelen vil være færdig om fire år.

@kaalogkartofler LOL, do these exist? Battery propelled ferries that charge their batteries with an onboard diesel engine? That is some unnecessary electrical generation.
