    Helen of Troy was born from an egg as a result of her father turning into a swan (or goose) and mating with her mother, who may have been either Leda or Nemesis.
    And let's not forget the 6-headed, 12-footed Scylla, and the half-bird, half-human sirens.
    I look forward to all the hiSToRICle aCCuraSSy.

    @Richard_Littler I think this might have inadvertently highlighted the central problem: a complete inability to distinguish fact from fiction.

        @Richard_Littler I’ve always wondered what the underworld looked like back in the days. That film will finally shed some light on it.

            @Richard_Littler Everybody(who has some education in the Humanities) knows that Odysseus holed up in a Super8 motel outside Luxor. He and his men shot dice and quaffed libations until their per diems ran out.

              And the Trojan war was really started by a god taking one of the Golden Apples of the Hesperides, throwing it on the table at the feast and saying "For the most beautiful woman".

                @Richard_Littler The conservative Polish poet Herbert once wrote that European culture consists of Judeo-Christianity, Roman law, and Greek humanism. For today’s Right, however, it is all about white skin and homophobia—not values. The Right does not stop to consider whether a film accurately portrays the attitudes of the gods or the morality of the era; it focuses solely on skin color. The Right is "going to the dogs"—a Polish idiom meaning they have deteriorated compared to the past. An interesting side note: in Poland, the police are referred to as "dogs" because they serve those in power.

                @morton @Richard_Littler

                "going to the dogs" is also a phrase in UK English - it means the same thing as your Polish idiom (degradation) - it comes from people "losing their shirts" by betting on the wrong ones at the dog races.

                                  @Richard_Littler Historically accurate and AI in the same sentence. Who expected that? But whatever. How can any rendering of an ancient story be accurate? Do we have an authenticated first edition to work from, or a mash-up of fragmented versions, quotes, references and re-writes?

                                      Helen of Troy was born from an egg as a result of her father turning into a swan (or goose) and mating with her mother, who may have been either Leda or Nemesis.
                                      And let's not forget the 6-headed, 12-footed Scylla, and the half-bird, half-human sirens.
                                      I look forward to all the hiSToRICle aCCuraSSy.

                                        @Richard_Littler I have a huge problem with the phrase: "historically accurate" in this context. Really!? All the fantasy was actually real? Guess in the circles Musk move, changing reality, facts and history has never been a problem, his bro Donnie will vouch for everything and fire anyone not agreeing.

                                          And the Trojan war was really started by a god taking one of the Golden Apples of the Hesperides, throwing it on the table at the feast and saying "For the most beautiful woman".
                                          Ray Harrryhausen did great special effects for old Greek & Arab stories made as movies for Hollywood.
                                          Elon Musk is a con man. SpaceX IPO, "Starship", Mars, Tesla trucks, Boring Company Hyperloop, Power Wall, Thai caving, Twitter -> X fiascos. Rich by luck & taxpayer.
                                          Paid Tesla founders to be named.

                                          @raymaccarthy @Richard_Littler his Starship, the one that keeps exploding, is supposed to be off to Mars in a few weeks or he'll miss the deadline he set (and everyone seems to have forgotten)
