@Pamela1960 @Tutanota I countered a friend with that very same argument down the pub.
His reply:"I don't care!"
What an idiot.

Stop saying stupid stuff like:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."Start saying:
"A free country doesn't track innocent citizens."@Tutanota The first phrase can often be followed by a «why are you doxxing me?» and the retort «why would you want your address and phone number hidden?»

Stop saying stupid stuff like:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."Start saying:
"A free country doesn't track innocent citizens."@Tutanota Honestly, even the hardcore capitalists should understand that secrets leaking out can absolutely wreck your business. It's wild that Zuckerberg can buy the land around his Hawaii mansion, just so people can't see what's going on on his land, all while selling creepglasses.

Stop saying stupid stuff like:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."Start saying:
"A free country doesn't track innocent citizens."@Tutanota In particular, in a free country you do not have to carry ID with you, you cannot be stopped on the street and asked for "papers please", and you cannot be arrested for not having them with you.
(I'm looking at you, France.)

Stop saying stupid stuff like:

"I am fine with surveillance, I haven't done anything wrong"
Second person "until someone changes the definition of 'wrong' ." -
Stop saying stupid stuff like:

There are thousands of laws, rules, and regulations, federal, state, and local, that you could be unknowingly in violation of. Constant surveillance will expose an excuse to apprehend you. -
Stop saying stupid stuff like:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."Start saying:
"A free country doesn't track innocent citizens."@Tutanota One could even say, a serious, rational and legitimate government, wouldn't need a surveillance if such government was open and had nothing to hide from its citizens.
(This also makes stalking legal)

@KittenKoder @Tutanota Less guns = less violence as well, by the way

@The_Universality Less guns will result in fewer murders by guns though, that's just basic math.
If you psychotic motorists want the majority of the people to care about the cameras, maybe put in decent sidewalks and protected bike lanes. Stop parking along the streets, and stop murdering people. Slow the fuck down.
Then we might be where the cameras are.

This is very uneducated and short-sided from your sight.Less weapons means less lawful citizens being able to protect themselves against criminals. (who as you might guess are cowards attacking those who they deem less likely to be able to stand their ground)
Look at the Wild West, for example.
(Not the movies, but the reality of Wild West.)Crims will rethink whether to rob armed one.

1/2@The_Universality Holy shit, you're doing the fallacy, the "good guy with a gun" trope is a fucking fallacy because it happens less than mass shootings do.
Also, the Wild West was a hellscape, it was horrible, people were miserable at that time because of all the guns.

1/2As for motorists, yes we should make personal motor transport the least desirable option (at least in cities) and invest in public transport. As it is better and we wouldn't be using the precious oil for something as stupid as burning it to move few km(s).
But, that doesn't make all motorists psychotic.

@The_Universality The use of a car makes you weak and pathetically enslaved to the capitalists. You are destroying the planet just so you can waste your body away sitting all day doing nothing.
Also, you just proved you're psychotic.

"Also, the Wild West was a hellscape, it was horrible, people were miserable at that time because of all the guns."
That is not true. Please research.
As for the mass shootings, consider the fact, that most of those shootings happen because those who were attacked had no weapons to protect themselves with.
It indeed may sound illogical at first for more weapons to cause more peace, but this was proved multiple times.
Here's a book regarding this:
