I like the fact that the signs in Cornwall say Beware The Gulls. As opposed to Beware Of The Gulls. Beware The Gulls sounds more ominous, more chilling, more 'these creatures are demonic, you are in grave peril'.

I was joking about the same seagull following me everywhere, but now that I skim some random photos, maybe I'm not

@CiaraNi I've heard something similar about ducks, but not seagulls. A combination of Anatidaephobia
https://www.fearof.net/fear-of-ducks-phobia-anatidaephobia/ and the Fregoli delusion? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fregoli_delusion

@CiaraNi It is. I wanted to identify it because it looks different to anything I've seen in the UK. Its dark eye makes it look a little more kind.

@CiaraNi or perhaps it is just the same seagull... It's not paranoia if you _are_ being followed.

@jgrg I hadn't thought of the difference between them in different territories. Interesting. "Its dark eye makes it look a little more kind." That's a lovely observation. Agreed - the yellow eyes make gulls seem more 'malevolent'. When they're attacking you, especially.

@jgrg @CiaraNi we do have lesser black backed gulls (and great black backed - they’re really big) in the UK but they seem not as adjusted to dealing with humans as Herring Gulls.

@CiaraNi Reasonably sure this one is a blacked headed gull in the middle of transitioning between winter and summer plumage or an immature adult. Their heads are only black in summer once they’re breeding age.

@aimaz @jgrg I am so accustomed to seagulls being screeching attacking sky-demons that I read 'dealing with humans' in the sense of them 'dealing' with us the way Mafia operatives would.
