Can you tell the time on an analogue clock?

@MelissaBearTrix I have discovered that the easiest way for me to tell time is analogue clock with Roman numerals, because it's even clearer what side is lopsided in what way then.
I have dyscalculia, that probably factors in. I /can/ read digital clocks, but it's far harder and takes longer and the chance I misread it goes up by a lot. -

@MelissaBearTrix@gives.hugz.online if it's just two hands with no digits then yeah no fuck that I'm just looking at the position of the sun to determine the time of day

@MelissaBearTrix i couldn't for a long time and still can't at a glance, i need to actively look at the numbers and process it for a few seconds
if there is no numbers i need to count the lines

Sometimes I mix up some stuff for whatever reason, also I need longer to read the time on an analog one.As I was still wearing smart watches I always used an analog watch face as I think they look better as a worn clock than digital ones.

When I see a reverse clock it gives me a nightmare ... A had a customer that I had to source 30 of them
And all different, pre internet too ... Giggles

@MelissaBearTrix Clearly I'm the only one who said no. To explain that, I could but I forgot how. The last time I had a tactile/Braille watch was when I was a kid which is a long time ago, and I can't remember which hand is which.
I've always found those watches cumbersome so have used digital ones since. -

@MelissaBearTrix Yeah I know people who can do it instantly. Dunno why they call them braille when it's not. I suppose the dots are similarly spaced like the 3 dots to indicate 12.

I mean, I _can_ but I feel annoyed about it. When they taught me as a kid I kept thinking "but we can write the numbers now, why do I need to learn to read it this way?". I still mostly feel the same way.
In a sense you could say that an analogue clock is... anachronistic?

That would be nice, but with real diamonds ... Giggles
I've seen pictures of very old pocket watches that used some unusual ways to help sight impaired people to feel the time

When I was young we only had one of those at home. I was better at reading them then I was at reading normal ones. My mom often said it was a Belgian clock due to them being the source of a lot of jokes in the Netherlands.
Now that clock is hanging in my place, confusing all the people that visit. -
