Today I learned that one of the founders of @mullvadnet is donating 5 million SEK to a right-wing party campaigning for "extensive remigration".
@malte yeah people are real slow on the uptake on the concept of "power corrupts". If you have managed to get enough money to be able to just donate 5 million to any political cause, you have had too much fucking money for too long and this has already driven you insane.

The problem is that Daniel Berntsson is making this money through Mullvad, i.e. there's a reason why your paying users see how they're practically funding this donation. The question on everyone's mind is: Why give my money to a company owned by someone who then goes on to share the profits with a right-wing extremist party?

They use their money to support great open source projects and privacy-focused orgs, including @Mastodon , @eff , @ooni , @torproject and @peertube . @mullvadnet Just wanted to say I absolutely support your position. Stay strong, radical left will assault you because they believe they are "super kind", so they have right to dehumanize their political adversaries, call them names, spread hate speech about them (allegedly "fighting" against hate speech at the same time, but apparently against hate speech directed at selected groups of people, not at everyone). Anyway, stay strong, next days/weeks may be hard, especially on Mastodon.
