When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

    @jascha

My name is Abdul Rahman I'm living in a tent in Gaza the sole provider for a family of 15
    including 7 children
The war destroyed my business leaving us without any income We struggle daily to provide food medicine basic necessities for our children
We never imagined we would have to ask for help but today we desperately need it
Any donation no matter how small will help our children survive and regain hope
Thank you for your generosity and supporthttps://gofund.me/6eed71fa

@jascha "Scientists paid to make their research open access" doesn't have the same ring to it.

@jascha it's the whole point of science.

The friction occurs because of who funds studies, etc. And that can be legitimate.

But science itself is just science.

Every conversation I have had where I encountered this, I made that point. And it sticks.

There is bias in some aspects of what is *presented* as science.

        But that's not science.

Science is not marketing. So I point to that. 🙃

@jascha Yeah. Have you ever tried talking to a scientist about their field of study? I don't particularly recommend it; once you get them going, it's damn near impossible to get them to shut up! 😉

@jascha Scientists probably don't want you to listen to flat earth no-vaccines guy, but that's because someone did the debunking 50 years ago back when that seemed worth doing.

The Distraction economy keeps the good stuff out of people's heads. Been writing about that, though data sovereignty has been the more prominent thing in the past week. Wrapping that up today on knowprose.com.

When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

If anything, scientists are wary of telling you because they know you’ll take whatever they say to the most illogical conclusion.

@jascha they put all their shit online and are begging you to engage with their ideas, if you can credibly disprove something they will change their theories because of you!
