Hallo, I posted this a couple of days ago - without any resonance, so I try again.
I encountered a problem that posts from newer mastodon version, with #CW in text and media, don’t hide media properly (text is hidden), on instances running older versions/ hybrid.
I suppose this is a known problem on several instances.
It should have been an issue in the community, and if there are any tips I’d be grateful to learn. Thank you.

Hi!
Is this happening to you on hcommons.social?
Could you check in your preferences on your server website if you have "hide media marked as sensitive" selected?

YES.
Also on “fedibird.com” the same phenomenon.
In older versions, by composing a post there is a checkbox extra for the graphics to “mark as sensitive”, but in newer (not sure exactly when) ver. the yellow triangle icon alone should handle CW text and sensitive graphics, if I understand it right. I suppose, there may be some discrepancy?

Fedibird.com is running an extremely old version that hasn't been supported in a long time, I'm not surprised it has problems
Hcommons is a much more modern version which is still supported, though of course it's not the most current version.
I can't find this bug mentioned in Mastodon's Github. I am wondering if this is related to the Hometown alterations, but their Github doesn't mention this bug either?
Is this just when you're using the web interface?

Yup, I knew fedibird is a bit extraordinary instance, so no wonder...
I always use web browser on mainly iPad and iPhone. If it helps, I can DL IceCube (once tried and deleted) again and check...?

If you could check if it also happens on any app, that would help narrow down where the problem is

Well, I'm sorry to tell you, but the problem doesn't occur NOW on hcommons...
I noticed it about a week ago, and after that ... iOS update? or something must have taken place (can't say for sure) ...
(On fedibird it is same as before but no use fussing around, as you suggested.)
Sorry for your time and effort.

Please don't apologise, very happy to hear the problem has gone! 🥳
