Danish border control fascist

Also the guy was genuinely surprised to get pushed. No I do not want border controls here damn it. #Schengen
@jon Thank you for sharing this! 11 years of useless "temporary" border control, and extension renewed each 6 month/each year without objections at all from the rest of EU (except Flensburg and Schleswig-Holstein, sending a complaint every time the control is to be extended).
It costs a fortune, it doesn't work, it's totally inefficient but the politicians feel good about it and can show off to their electors. It's rotten and it's sad.

@Veronique_D and if you cross the border on a small lane likely there’ll be no check.

They took one dude off the train #Schengen
I’m pretty sure that if you controlled any train of 400 passengers, anywhere, you’d find 1 person with the wrong papers #Schengen
-
Anyway. Welcome to Denmark

And I absolutely agree with the above sentiment. It's rotten.
By now I have an unfortunate amount of experience with the Danish border guards. They're very different than the Germans in that the Danes actively engage in dialogue: and often with really bad and (borderline-) racist arguments that they don't expect people to disagree with.

@jon On one of my crossing from Germany to Denmark in March a white lady got to ride onwards without an ID, but a family with a hijab-wearing mother all got thrown off. 🤨
I feel soooo safe with these old military guys and armed cops throwing off families.

@jon usually 1 out of 30 or 40. In most cases, one bus of people is enough tp find someone

@jon Sure, the point is of-course that we shouldn't care about people's papers though.

@wmd Right. But the point is simply controlling at borders makes just as little sense as not at borders!
-
“You just see this train” he goes on. “You don’t see what I see in 8 hours”
No. You don’t see most of what happens because you don’t control every car
Oh and you didn’t control my ID properly anyway, you piece of shit destroying a border free Europe on behalf of your smug piece of shit political bosses
@jon ”You just see this train”, he said not knowing exactly who he was speaking to

@jon I assume anyone who does have "something to hide" and still wants or needs to do train travel just takes the Niebüll - Tønder route. No checks at all and the scenery is nicer as well.
-

@jon ah like that. yes. the location probably has no impact.
-

@jon we crossed on our bikes through the woods, following a path, 200 m from the border control: it's so low key that we didn't notice we had passed the border. Border control is a joke.

@markus Twice now I've been "checked & cleared" by showing my toddlers passport. It's not even the correct nationality.
Another time I was "checked & cleared" with my old passport. Which has holes stamped all the way through.
I've also seen two rather dark skinned Spanish 'youngsters' who were interrogated for almost ten minutes as they had their ID cards in a sleeve saying "fuck the police". There was nothing wrong with their ID cards.
(I'm a very white guy, often with my laptop out)

@Veronique_D right. Seen that dozens of times. I think I’ve never been checked on a bike!
-

Same. We toured by bike from Rostock to Denmark and Sweden and back to Rostock and no one checked anything.

@jon as long as the person has dark skin because they are the only ones actually checked

@sbamueller they glanced at everyone’s id here.

@jon oh those border controls are peak pointless, no clue if you travelled from saarbrücken to sarreguimes yet, but neither the tram nor the bridge have any bpol present, so you cam literally just cross the borser to and from france with what ever you can transport in the tram or on foot/bike
further the forbach-saarbrücken section with the TER/Regio? bpol controls are them standing on the platform while smoking and vaguely looking at the people on the platform arriving
peak fucking farce

@jon @Veronique_D Or at an airport, of course

@16af93 errr I cross the France - Germany border at different places very regularly, so yes
