@FediTips My #Mastodon server uses the official #Docker image, then automatically creates a new image with the post character limit increased to 3,000 and runs that image. Anytime I upgrade, the automation runs and produces the patched image. If it can’t patch, it lets me know so I can adjust the patch file.
Sure would be nice if @MastodonEngineering would just make this configurable.

There was, but there was concern about privacy and the ability of people to delete their posts remaining copied on the thread viewer.
