            Not just no ads, no tracking and monetisation of your data, no pushing things you'll react to to keep you engaged, no shadow banning, no algorithm... just a chronological timeline you control.

            FWIW You can use Signal instead of WhatsApp all or some of the time (if you're still using. I deleted it the day Facebook bought it, & Twitter the day Musk bought it).

I've been here three years and one thing you'll notice is no algorithms, so if you are following people, you will always see their messages unless you mute them.                               @Colgrace Welcome - hope you enjoy it here - I'm also on Bluesky, LinkedIn and the dreaded Facebook but definitely find I'm left in a much better mood after looking at my Mastodon feed than the others. My profile pic is our Hungarian rescue Freddie. I get a bit worked up about politics, lack of democracy and inequality. A fan of Douglas Adams - definitely one we lost too early...
