@Kjaerulv @snittegodskontoret En helt anden stil. Begge er stærke.

@CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret ja de er begge virkelig gode!

@deadrobot Dead Robot resonates! Nice strong logo.
@snittegodskontoret -
‘New data centres? No thanks’
A new logo for the Danish campaign against data centres. Lovely work by @snittegodskontoret - a lovely, clever counterpart to the ‘Nuclear Power? No Thanks’ logo. (Also a Danish design)
Den Smilende Sol - Den Sure Sky
The Smiling Sun - The Cross Cloud
The angry, real cloud. The water. The electricity. Nice layers to it.

@CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret huh, I wonder if this inspired the branding for the British nationalist campaign against Scottish independence

@CiaraNi I didn't know that the anti-nuclear stickers were a Danish design. It was unforgettable! I once had a yellow rain-jacket (against police water canons) with a huge sticker on my back for protests.

Rowling, who is a friend and former neighbour of Darling, made a £1,000,000 (US$1,694,000) donation to Better Together."

@NatureMC @CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret I always thought the design was German - atom Kraft nein danke - not that I have much to back up this. Except the first ones I ever saw were so.

Me too. I had a German one on the rear window of my car in the early 80s. -

@ahltorp yeah... although there are rich transphobes on both sides of the constitutional question here, unfortunately. I think Brian and Ann Souter donated a similar amount to the Yes campaign

@CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret Ik snap beide bezwaren maar ook geldt voor beide: wat is het alternatief? Een datacenter net over de grens in Duitsland met een mooie kolencentrale ernaast?
@MaSiKa69 @CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret The alternative is no new data centers. We have enough for basic and critical stuff already. The data center build-out is about "Gen AI", and serves no purpose for humans what so ever.

@NatureMC @RickGaehl @capnthommo
The Smiling Sun was designed on the back of an envelope by 21-year-old activist Anne Lund in Aarhus. It's commemorated to this day in a landmark mural in the city centre.
Funny you mention wearing the logo on a rain-jacket. That usage was in her thinking. She's quoted in this article:
“It needed to be pretty enough for women to wear it on their overcoats to indicate a kind, but firm ‘no thanks’. No clenched fists, no scary images."

@stjerneskov @MaSiKa69 @snittegodskontoret Well put and well said. This is exactly it.

I was wondering, too, but it checks out:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Together_(campaign)#/media/File:Better_Together_campaigning_at_Kinross_-_geograph.org.uk_-_4160846.jpg@jackeric Perhaps! The 'No, thanks' works intuitively in this context, I think, even if probably younger people don't immediately know the original source.
-
@NatureMC Well yes I know it became famous and used worldwide. It's famous for being used in multiple languages.

@CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret Is Atomkraft a danish word?

@CiaraNi @snittegodskontoret Is Atomkraft a danish word?
@bjo 'Atomkraft' is Danish for 'nuclear power'
-

@CiaraNi thanks, just wondering as it's the same as in Germany and I thought the "Atomkraft nein danke" stickers are a German thing.
