Went to the dentist and am on my way to town to do some clothes shopping
Thought I would grab some lunch at Denny's on the way, just something quick and cheap... only to find a line out the door and a 90min wait time
So went to a small little pasta place that is also pretty reasonable (1400 for this pasta + salad + ice coffee) and has a way more relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff and I can sit at the counter with no wait

I'm an American so I still think of Denny's as the place to go for cheap, serviceable pancakes lol
But here it's a full sit-down family restaurant chain and tbh the prices are getting kind ridic (closer to Royal Host (derogatory) than Gusto, and even Gusto is getting more and more expensive despite obv cost-cutting measures like replacing their staff with those robo-cat servers)

It's wild to think that the place I'm at today (which you'd think would be an Occasion kinda place) is the same or cheaper than Denny's

it's not common around here to have food places where you can sit at the counter, but the English pub that just opened down the street from me has ample room for it & I love sitting at the bar eating fish & chips
