What's the farthest you would go to see a concert?

@evan I once traveled from California to London to see Kate Bush. It was so worth it! I also used to travel within the US to see the Dead, and more recently have traveled to New Orleans or LA to see shows by favorite musicians. If it's an interesting place, you can always make a fun trip out of it.

@evan In typical Canadian style, I measure distance in hours. Depending on how much I like the artist, 3 to 6 hours.

@evan not for a whole season or anything. We did road trip from Houston to Colorado once to see 3 shows at Red Rocks and 2 at Telluride, all quite spectacular. Usually I would just fly from Houston to California for a run of 3-4 shows.

@evan I'm not warping back to Xarkclanx IV, even if The Beatles are playing a reunion show there. It's just not worth dealing with the decade of spontaneous liquefaction after.

@evan When I was younger, "own region." I think the farthest I've traveled for a concert was 400 km or so (Radiohead). Nowadays, my city, I'm too old for that shit.

@evan basically anywhere that's a direct flight from my city. There is only one international flight from here (soon to be 2). So I chose "own country."

I've only once made a transcontinental journey to see a concert, but that was when I lived across an ocean from London.
Now I go up to London or Paris once per year or so for a gig.
My own country is more of a monthly/weekly thing, given that I commute across cantonal borders anyway.
