@tml @Jonas_Bostrom @jon @nafmo @sebwilken @stefanlindbohm My bad - it was double track! The Haparanda line was unelectrified.
@violanders No, it was two single track lines next to each other. @tml @jon @nafmo @sebwilken @stefanlindbohm

The whole story is this: From the beginning (1900) the Haparanda line had its own track all the way to Boden C, parallell to Malmbanan ("the Ore line".) 1921 the ore train bypass at Boden C was built and Malmbanan and the Haparanda line switched tracks north of Boden with the Haparanda line crossing Malmbanan by bridge. The purpose was to minimise the conflicts between the iron ore trains and other traffic. ->

@Jonas_Bostrom @tml @jon @nafmo @sebwilken @stefanlindbohm -> Around the year 2000 the western part of the Haparanda line was rebuilt for heavier trains and this is when the parallell track and the bridge were removed since the line had (and has) so little traffic that the parallell tracks and the bridge weren't needed.

@bellinghman @jon In addition to GPS and Galileo it does GLONASS & BeiDou?

Looks like the 13:47 Haparanda - Boden is *also* cancelled So I *might* be able to leave Haparanda at 19:38, and then get the night train at 22:18 from Boden
So I *might* be able to leave Haparanda at 19:38, and then get the night train at 22:18 from Boden to Stockholm - have reserved a (cancellable) bed on that in case it does work

So this is the likely new timetable
I think
I hope!
Red ones I did not reserve yet

@jon You can change directly from ECE 5 to TGV 9580 in Karlsruhe, skipping the regional train between Offenburg - Strasbourg.
I guess the reservation fee is slightly higher for this though? But it does make the trip simpler.

@stefanlindbohm I am not worried about that. There are loads of options there. And if I can I want to take the crap cross border railbus

And if this train does NOT go tonight from Haparanda to Boden, I would *then* be relying on a 3 minute connection in Badajoz on the final day

I SOOOO hope Norrtåg manages to run later today.

@jon if you get a chance can you fix the formatting on the alt text please. It's kinda garbled and impossible to follow.

@quixoticgeek No. But you can find the entire Spreadsheet here: https://nextcloud.jonworth.eu/index.php/s/AllRoutePlans

@jon on the plus side. That 3 mins change should be across the platform.

The kind people at the Tornio art gallery gave me a warm place to sit and work - super
This piece they have it entitled “Waiting for a Norrtåg train”

@jon I take comfort in the fact, Germany is not alone when it comes to shitty train operations.
