This is great news.
In Iceland and Norway we have been fortunate enough to have plenty of hydro power, so use of oil has been mostly related to cars and ships. Both countries have taking large steps towards EVs, with sales of EVs at 95% in Norway at this time.
The goal should be to be as independent from oil as we can be.

@jon Very welcome what the Nordic countries are doing. In Germany, our Minister for Economic Affairs, who has worked for a major energy supplier for years, is unfortunately going in the other direction. Back to fossil fuels. This is why she is also none as GasKathi in Germany. She believes this is necessary to reduce energy prices. Only, that's what we were promised at Northstream II. Norway and Iceland are clearly ahead of us. @jon I hope the Vivaldi data centers also run on green energy in Iceland?

@djbiker , the electrical grid in Iceland is all green, so our servers also run on green energy!

@jon Hey Jon, remind me again, how does Norway make most of its money?

@aral @jon Depending on your definition, stock profits gained us 247 billion USD for the sovereign fund in 2025.
(But indeed, fossil fuel profits were around ~$60 billion, added into the sovereign fund to grow further. Norway is "helped" further by Ukraine occupation, of course, driving gas prices higher. We aren't getting high of our own supply, but we are hypocrits.)
