    πŸͺ There's one thing we can all agree on: we're fed up with misleading cookie banners. 🚫 And we finally have a chance to get rid of them!

    πŸ’‘ The solution? Simple! Express your privacy preferences once, for example via your browser or device, and have them respected permanently.

    πŸ“ƒ A proposal to end this tracking circus is currently on the table of EU lawmakers – and could easily simplify things for everyone in the European Union.

      Sadly our idiotic UK representatives don't currently relate to the EU, so I'll just wave this small flag from over here and hope it counts.

        @noybeu lmao the private surveillence industry will literally just ignore it. you need to actually make this shit extremely illegal with punishment of prison time, not include a millionth opt-out pretty please no tracking button.

          @noybeu Another thing is I want to give site specific consent, e.g. I like showing Valve and some other sites that I'm on Linux, so that they can focus on optimise for these system.

          Ok, certainly there will be a way for me to configure this but that leads to the question if site owners should have the right to remind me and ask again. Basically showing the good old banner again.

          If yes, than mainly all sites will stick to showing the banner on every landing page.

          @streetcoder
          As a site owner I fully agree with you on the point that users should decide per site whether to agree to analytics or not.

          As a site user, I reject all cookies always. I straight up don't even read or process these banners anymore
          Some websites havr maybe 5 cookies to agree to. Others have 500. It's so much to read and sit down and understand. Especially on the web where time is limited and there are so many sites to visit always

          I am conflicted πŸ˜•

            While I support this, I must admit that I'd miss watching #Consentomatic clicking away my banners a little bit.

                  It... already exists. Most browsers give the option to refuse all cookies.
                  It also already existed before the RGPD, that's why the RGPD was completly useless about dealing with cookies.

                  @noybeu @EdwardCage GDPR never had anything to do with cookies. It’s pretty much all e-PD from 2002

                      If you disable session storage and cookie persistence then you'll get to see the animations again everytike you've restarted your browser.
