I drive a #Peugeot. I'm quite happy with it, but fucking hell, the app is a piece of shit. Having paid a small mountain of gold to be able to warm up my car on icy days like this, it pisses me off to no end when the app refuses to talk to me. Peice of shit. Same app is used for a lot of cars in the #Stellantis group, so it's a fucking mystery to me why they haven't fixed it yet.

I'm happy with my very analog Renault Grand Scenic from 2016. I'd like to replace it with an electric eventually, but ideally I want no apps, real buttons, etc.
For me, a car is an instrument to move people and stuff from A to B, not something I want to spend time and effort on outside of using it.

@EvilCartyen @saustrup the ability to remote heat the car is very nice, but after a few years I had to pay a monthly or annual subscription, which is just madness: Pennies compared to the giant pile of money I already paid.
I think something like this should not be handled by the vendor. Cars should have a generic interface which users could direct to whatever service they choose. I want my car to connect to my own server.

@mk @EvilCartyen I'm never getting a car which requires me to subscribe to basic features. That's madness. My built-in navigation stopped working recently, but I'll manage as I didn't use it anyway. Next time I'm buying a vehicle, I want a clear list of things that will stop working after a free trial. Preferably that list will be empty.

@EvilCartyen I like actual physical tactile buttons too. You know, the exact opposite of tablet bumper cars like Tesla the cartoon #swasticar.
