While he's right that it's a normal word in Spanish for the color, anyone with a basic level of English literacy understands the implications it has outside of it and would refrain from its use unless it's _very_ justified.
Hell, even in Spanish it can have some racist connotations. Its use by this individual was very deliberate and has earned him a block.

@amydiehl I was only once persuaded by family to join them in a Starbucks. I asked for a small, plain black coffee. I was told we have only large. I asked how big is 'large', and was duly shown the cup. I said 'I will not drink out of a piss pot' turned around and left, with the family reluctantly behind me.
The family have never forgiven me.
Starbucks? I couldn't care less. -

I love Wikipedia, but that calculation includes things like dekulakisation, which was a man-made starvation caused by landlords preferring to let people starve to death rather than lose their wealth.Wikipedia is good source but not bulletproof
