The removal of slopsmith from GitHub based on a nonsensical takedown request from Ubisoft is, among other things, another wakeup call for the open source community to leave and never use M$ GitHub.

Use e.g. Forgejo, Codeberg, Gitea, GOGS, Source Hut or something else instead, please, and GitHub can turn into the graveyard that it should've become long ago.

...which is also why I really want forgejo migrations to work better for bigger projects, because there are some issues resulting from GitHub rate limiting (and maybe instability, too) that still needs to be handled better.

Edit: GitLab's migration from GitHub works just fine for large repos, but it's not that much of an improvement compared to GitHub.

@marcusxms I would also recommend to have a look at @radicle as an alternative forge as well. This one can't be taken down easily as it is fully distributed, not a centralised service.

@dazo @radicle Certainly also a great suggestion! Thanks for bringing it up.
