    Looking for advice: Is there a #FOSS program to practice learning lines by rote? E.g. the lines of a manuscript as an actor.

      Something like LineLearner, I'm curious if there's a FOSS version to use and support

        @malte

        It might be possible with Anki (https://apps.ankiweb.net/), but I've not tried it myself.

        It is an open source flashcard program that supports spaced repetition and according to Wikipedia, the "cards" can also include pre-recorded sound and text-to-speech.

        I'm not sure how good it is, but it might work 🙂

          @snue @malte Anki was good on desktop, at least.

            AnkiDroid works fine on android, and you can sync with desktop I think...

            Edit: https://www.ankidroid.org/#AnkiDesktop
            Link to sync feature

              @snue Nice try! I tried adapting it to learning a script and it's possible it might work. The problem with Anki is that it doesn't respect chronology. In a script, it makes sense to learn the lines in context (of other lines). I could put the previous line in the front of the card and the next line on the back, but it does give all the lines a kind of free-floating quality that is a bit confusing.
