It’s a disastrous circus

@stux the entire industry feels very much like financial shenanigans to me, Nvidia cycling cash through these companies for the expressed purpose of buying Nvidia hardware, thus juicing their stock price, in a never ending cycle.
How this is legal I have no idea.

@stux I think about this a little in terms of the 2008 financial/housing crisis, where when you picked it apart you found individuals at every level who were strongly personally motivated to do bad things. You've got a lot of people in this AI fiasco with the same sorts of individual motivations, many of whom probably see the overall picture quite clearly, but are going to keep inflating this thing and reaping the individual rewards for as long as possible.

@Infoseepage @stux This will eclipse 2008. The amount of money here is absolutely bonkers - trillions of dollars worth of promises to buy things, all made by companies that have no hope of paying for it all with their current burn rate.

@JustinDerrick @stux Oh, undoubtedly. The amount of money tied up in this is huge. The comparison I'm making is how I think there is a similarity to 2008 in that a lot of people have personal investment in kicking this can down the road for as long as possible and extracting as much money for themselves and their own interests, which are not at all the same as even their company's interests.

@stux not just #Circus, but the biggest #CapitalFraud in history.
- The moment this bubble pops, it'll make the 1920s look like paradise and #Enron's accounting like a 'honest mistake' by comparison…
