"But we do know from Secretary #Rubio that #Netanyahu decided to strike #Iran.

@benroyce I thought Van Hollen was smarter than this. I live in Maryland. I will sit out the Senate election.
The US has agency. Plenty of US Presidents have told Israel no. Ask Obama. Ask Biden. I didn't vote for Trump and I don't support this war. But I sure as shit don't believe the US was bamboozled into it. The Trump admin chose it. Fuck Van Hollen for not having the strength to say this. He has lost my vote. -
@benroyce We disagree. That is fine. Reasonable people can have different opinions. I won't call you a moron because I don't respond to people that way.
@tobie1 we don't disagree. what you're saying is embarrassingly stupid

"But we do know from Secretary #Rubio that #Netanyahu decided to strike #Iran. And so here we are, doing what Prime Minister Netanyahu said he wanted to do for 40 years, which was to attack Iran. It's just Netanyahu had not found a president stupid enough to drag the #UnitedStates into that #war before. And now Donald #Trump has done it, they don't have a clue as to what the end game is"
- Senator #ChrisVanHollen of #Maryland
@benroyce I'm curious what the end game is supposed to be for Israel?
-
@benroyce What does "go along" mean? Foreign leaders make requests to American Presidents all the time. This is not unique to any one country. And Presidents decide with due deliberation whether a request is worth honoring or not. When we don't like those decisions, we blame the President for them. Chris Van Hollen could have done this. Instead he chose to fan the flames of the conspiracy theory that a foreign country is dictating the policy of the US. That's an incendiary statement IMO.
Netanyahu is good friends with the Kushner family due to Charles Kushner's ties to AIPAC. So much of a donor that Netanyahu would often stay at the Kushner family home.
MBS sees that the only way for the US to attack Iran (their sworn enemy. Sunni vs Shia) is through Trump. Going through Jared Kushner is the quickest way with a $2 billion "investment" to Jared.

@benroyce With no guarantee about who leads the new regime?

@starluna i dont know. You either believe mossad is playing 9d chess or you believe they're just as "start shooting we'll figure it out later" as the americans

@tobie1 @benroyce Add in a $400 million plane from Qatar and you see where this is going.
These countries can't take on Iran by themselves so they finally found someone corrupt enough to take the bribes.
This war with Iran has been brewing for a long time and it has *nothing* to do with the US.
And since the US and Israel unexpectedly attacked Iran *during negotiations*, Iran is crashing out and attacking anyone who has anything to do with America in the Middle East

@benroyce The latter feels more likely. Especially given Netanyahu's desire to stay out of prison.

@benroyce This of course cost Netanyahu his house, which has been blown up by an Iranian missile or drone. Unfortunately he wasn't in it, there are reports based on tracking his plane that he fled to Berlin prior to the strike.
@benroyce Funny thing about all this, there are now three countries that produce and fire the Shahed: Iran (the originator), Russia, and now the US as well. Apparently Shaheds are a hell of a lot cheaper than Tomahawks and do the same job.
As for why Iran is now such a world leader in drones, remember that RQ-170 they forced to land perhaps a decade ago and captured? The US military has said that in copying the Shahed they are copying a product that in turn was reverse engineered from US drone tech. I guess what Iran left out was war profiteers shaking down their warfighters for huge profits with every round fired.
My guess is the reason the Pentagon pays a thousand times as much for some attack drones and cruise missiles as they presumably now do for Shaheds must in fact be war profiteering greed.

i blame nonvoters for the war on #iran
i will wager that the " #genocideJoe" nonsense in 2024 was straight from #likud troll farm
deeply ironic and farcical
toxic idealist morons, obeying #netanyahu, with an easy #socialmedia #psyop, to not #vote, to give netanyahu #trump, as he wanted
that is the value of your pathetic self-serving ineffectual entitled #toxicIdealism
some of you are so smug blind and arrogant. you can't see how easy it is to manipulate you
@benroyce Israel drastically restricted food and aid to Gaza prior to the election as a ploy to peel people away from voting for Harris. They then restored it after Trump won until his people were in power for the full blockade. Another successful Israeli psyop.
