We should vote for the least harm. Full stop, and keep working to improve the system. That means electing better Democrats when we can, and not handing victories to the fascists to prove some sort of ideological point. Because then we go backwards, and we need to start rebuilding all over again.

No, that's not it at all. We should avoid Genocide Plus at all costs, because that kills a lot more people. You willingness to sacrifice these people and not take responsibility for it is what is messed up about your argument.

If the Trump admin, theoretically, was to utterly collapse USA hegemony and ruin its status as a superpower, that's *preferable* to a world where Genocide Joe and his predecessors get to do a "lesser" genocide to the Palestinians for the next 200 years. Accelerationism tends to be a pretty myopic and inconsistent worldview but it just so happens to be a good counter to the myopic and inconsistent one you are advocating for.

@reflex @mastodonmigration there are purity traps, and purity traps... as a feminist woman (possibly since before you were born) and Franken supporter I did not find anything credible in the accusations orchestrated by Republican operators, and I would have loved to see at least a legitimate inquiry; instead, Gillibrand saw her own political opportunity and pushed him out. His leaving was great loss for democracy and I'll never vote for her again.

Al Franken had six accusers. Platner has them coming out of the woodwork. Comparing that to the Swift Boat attack on John Kerry is massively disingenuous as that was literally made the fuck up. The claims against Franken, Platner and yes Joe are real.

We have three wolves, a lamb, and a chicken voting on what's for dinner, and no vegetarian options on the ballot only "lamb" and "chicken."
The only way out of this trap is to treat the election not as a vote for a leader you recognize, but rather as a vote on which enemy you have to fight. Which one is the weaker opponent? You fight no matter what, the "NO" vote is cast in the street.

Nonsense. This is just twisted logic. It may give you false comfort for helping unleash this nightmare, and getting a whole bunch more of the people you profess to support killed, but it is either foolish nonsense or deliberate purity trap trolling.
