Yes to the 1st one, if by "bad actors" we mean the companies making & propagating these tools. Other than that, use by criminals & swindlers is actually the least problem; AI is FAR worse when used as intended.
- & the 2nd one is much the same; lack of control is a problem right fucking now, nothing to do with how "smart" the systems are.

@jwcph I saw a couple of "AI" evangelists on here yesterday pushing the usual FOMO "you'll get left behind" and supposed "inevitability" and "productivity" pseudo-arguments. One even compared the "so-called" AI bubble to the "steam engine bubble". Pure hype! The temptation to ask for studies supporting any of this (and why so many have reached opposing conclusions) was strong, but I carried on scrolling.
Waste of time and energy. Those who've drank the Kool-Aid will only find out the hard way.
