@apenkop @Remittancegirl I don't hate them, as much as they make me deeply deeply angry and disturbed. I know in my heart and rationally that hate will harm myself and circle more than it will hurt them. It is their bread and butter. It is their currency. If I hate them, they win. That said, I will never stop pointing out their lies and misdeeds and will resist them in every way. They are losers and I will delight in watching them fall hard as a consequence of their arrogance and cruelty.

I've posted before that the period after his first term was so beautifully quiet, even here in Australia we were continually updated on his latest brain-farts, with next to no filter or reflection.

@Remittancegirl Good point. However, the problem goes deeper. The reason these idiot stories make it to the top of the spread every day is that they generate attention, clicks, advertising revenue. Thus, if the newspapers out of benevolence decide to lead with something else they risk loosing revenue to their competitor. Before we can change the dynamic of the mass media it is necessary to first make more profound modifications to how the entire logic works.

This hits especially hard for me. I got told I was being laid off in a bloodbath of an acquisition on a Monday back in 2016. Tuesday was the election. That also ended my time in Boston.
It was a very sharp discontinuity that destroyed the entire life I'd built up to that point. I landed on my feet, but it's different. Possibilities and aspirations faded out, and I know at this point they're never coming back.
I feel like I've been living in a campsite amidst ruins ever since.
@emc2 i am so very sorry life went skew whiff for you. Your description of living in a campsite amidst ruins is a powerful one. It must resonate with many, if not materially, then emotionally.
