You have the option of using the 'mute' option to quietly ignore any new posts of an individual user. There isn't a 'mute all posts from sites hosted in an entire country' <I think.>
Mastodon is an evolving software package and that might be introduced in a later version. I would personally regret to see that. -

@vcallinan St John’s has finally thawed enough to start thinking about planting. However, my ambition - growing hot peppers - is gonna require hydroponics anyway. It’s on my list of things to figure out.
