@Tijn the twats outnumber us 10 to 1

@SnoopJ I hope you're right
@eniko even if I am, it's not like the *present* situation where the pile of financialized instruments hasn't exploded doesn't ALSO suck
-
@eniko I genuinely don't know how to get over this precise feeling.

@c0dec0dec0de @datarama not great for anxiety either lemme tell ya
-
Yeah it won't be good and it won't mean anything at all but it's *something* and it costs you nothing so why not slop out some more content for the dead internet, go wild, the social contract is fucking dead anyway
Jesus fucking christ
@eniko the funny part is like, its definitely expensive to use in any real capacity. everyone who shows their whole ass has easily sent hundreds down the drain for that garbage.

Seriously it's like buying it in a shop and going "look at this cool thing I made!"
@eniko with how the gen AI systems have been trained, I'd almost say it's more like "taking something home from the british museum and showing everyone the cool thing you made"

@eniko @c0dec0dec0de anxiety *and* depression. and a work life that increasingly feels like i'm running myself to death trying to prove that i still have any worth at all.

@cuirass_entertainment Who ever said we'd be in the bunker? It'd be the twats in the bunker because they'd think their ai is going to exterminate all humans while we just unplug it

@eniko @c0dec0dec0de To be honest, it's not really the work life that hurts the most.
I've had low-wage jobs before. I've also been long-term unemployed. It fucking sucks, but it's survivable - at least here where I am. I can make do on very little if need be - I know this for a fact, because I spent a large chunk of my youth under the relative poverty line.
But the thing I always had that I could hold on to when life sucked was programming. I've been programming since before I knew it even could be a job.
And it's also the one thing I've ever had in my life where I'm not just some disabled fuckup. The one thing that I could actually do that anyone actually valued.
Seeing the value of that plummet to 0 in nearly no time at all has sent me reeling, and I don't know if I can get back up.
