Hello! Figured I should finally stop procrastinating and start talking on here. I'm looking for some friends to chat with, especially ones who are into game dev and music making, as I want to meet others while I learn those.
Game development and music making are two dreams of mine that I have started work on learning, but they are difficult and it would be great to have people I can go to for help and chatting with. For game development I am using Godot and also learning Blender and Aseprite. For making music I have Reaper and OpenMPT but haven't learned those at all yet (I, rather poorly, made music for a couple years using Bandlab starting in 2021, though I stopped in early 2024), and I also have a mid-size midi keyboard but don't yet have the space to use it.
I haven't really socialized much outside of a few friend groups on discord, not any other social media, so this is a new experience for me! For a long time I have had only a couple friends because finding spaces to socialize in is difficult and it's awkward trying to meet new people. A bit nervous (and lacking confidence in my social abilities), but hope this goes well!

@nixiina bandlab eh? my DAW of choice was sonar/cakewalk which i believe they own. i was close friends with an indie dev growing up y'see so scoring games became a passion of mine for a good while. fun times!

@nixiina@bark.lgbt I've been making music for, uhhh.... 30 years now (I'm getting old), and have made some bad games in QBASIC and TI-BASIC. It would be cool to actually learn the game dev side. I haven't been able to really get into modern coding though. The last I did was some Java web development in ~2002.

Yeah, strudel is great to make music from rather simple building blocks. And it's easy to collaborate with it.
