Today Al-Ghufri Tower — one of Gaza’s most famous landmarks, by the sea and near Al-Shati camp where I live — was bombed. Every day Gaza loses more of its landmarks and beloved people. We are facing an unbearable campaign of destruction and mass suffering. The occupation tells us to evacuate south and drops leaflets, but the south is only slightly safer — still under threat and far too costly to reach.

Sadly, I contacted a truck to move us to the south, and just transporting our belongings costs 2,000 shekels (around $1,000). On top of that, we need more than $2,000 to buy tents for four families, and about $500 to build a shared bathroom in the camp.
Prices here are unbearably high. If we can't raise this money, we will not be able to evacuate to the south and will remain trapped by the occupation’s tanks.

every moment is dangerous, and I can't guarantee our survival.

Every day in Gaza is a fight for survival. In Al-Shati refugee camp, my family and I wake up to the sounds of bombings. We eat what little we can find — mostly canned food — and live in constant fear. There is no safe place, no comfort, only trying to survive another day.
