***My question is what is the benefit of using my Fork account when I join new instances if they create new user names either way? Is this where the Followers aspect comes in that I might be missing? For creating a primary follower base should I default to always signing in with my Fork account?

- I made an account directly on Pixelfed under @Biokevin@pixelfed.social.
- I made a new test account with my @theforkiverse.com account featured here @Biokevin
- When I created the account and used the fork account (K2) I still needed to assign a unique user name within the PixelFed world @Biokevinn.

- I made a test post (see above) and I was not able to see it under my Fork account unless I followed the new @Biokevinn account.

Yes, I just checked today there are various permission levels per post that you can toggle between on PixelFed

How do folks manage the balance between having a more private social media experience with the fediverse versus a fully public one? I'm starting to run into some conflict with how I use the fediverse like I would my Instagram for example. I've always had private accounts because I only want to share with people I know. That doesn't seem to be an option here so it does limit the type of content I would be willing to share publicly. Thoughts?
