@capnthommo I was listening to an interview from 1977 this morning between Studs Terkel and Michael Harrington and Ralph Helstein. Harrington was of course critical of the Democrats, but as he pointed out, all of the people who want positive change, for whatever reason, were in the Democratic Party. Yeah, Carter was lousy, but Reagan was worse by a factor of a hundred.

Do we have corrupt leadership? Yes, but that's not why we joined.

Someone tried to take something important away from you--so you just let them? You don't fight to preserve something that's of existential importance?
