@FediTips if you follow a non-trivial number of accounts and hashtags, the timeline is like a firehose, and you only see the current ~30 minutes, so many people are going to miss the correction if it's not a notification.

@FediTips @tinker @jrdepriest @courtcan @jackel23gr misinfo needs some de-boosting mechanism where you can retract a boost and notify everyone who boosted it after your boost put it in front of them. Quote posts might help, though maybe not as implemented.

People get too hung up on the cost of #farelessTransit and don't see the benefits of a system without gatekeeping, turnstiles, tracking devices, policing. All-door boarding, or eliminating administrative overhead, and giving access to everyone without jumping through hoops of means-tested reduced-fare programs.

Transit should be fast, frequent, and fareless. The cost is a pittance compared to the socialism we splash around for cars: $600M for NYC!!?? Take $1.2B out of the highway department's budget overrun bucket for a single offramp.
